It’s been a while since we last delved into the wonderful world of London pop-ups. April offered us many culinary delights (including a five-course meal for dogs). August brings us much more outdoor action with a fusion of styles, locations, music and art all available in East London. Here are our top picks, if you have any recommendations, be sure to let us know.
FOOD & ART, Cambridge Heath / Bethnal Green
This bi-monthly supper club takes its menu inspiration from artists and art movements, collaborating with chefs to present unique dining experiences. This August The Artist Dining Room is delighted to present an evening inspired by the Cuban/American performance artist, sculptor, painter and video artist Ana Mendieta.
A unique evening of dining and performance curated by Guest Projects with experimental chef and artist Justin Horne and as always guests will be lead through the evening to uncover the life and works of Mendieta by our guest host Thyra October Ellicott of The Octavia Collective.

TROPICAL COCKTAIL PARTY, Hackney Wick
One of the finest and most fun pop-up parties of last summer, Flamingo Pier is back for summer 2015, which is great news for anyone who likes their pop-ups with a big dose of tropical indulgence. A pop-up tropical party on a floating pontoon, featuring DJs, street food and bespoke cocktails.
The action takes place both inside Hackney Wick’s Counter Cafe and on the venue’s floating pontoon, as well as Counter’s moored canalside boat. As before, there’ll be DJs spinning deep disco and hip house soundtracks, street food, bespoke cocktails and craft beer (from Hackney Wick’s Crate Brewery), but for 2015 the Flamingo Pier crew have stepped things up: each night the party will be themed around a different exotic location or ‘postcard’ (including Bali, the Seychelles, Phillipines and Burma), with food and drink inspired by the setting and custom projections to bring the theme to life visually.
