Temperatures are soaring and the sun is out. Thankfully, there are a huge variety of excellent places in East London to get a refreshing drink or a bite to eat as you catch some rays. We’ve put together some of our favourite outdoor spots – beer gardens, roof terraces and green spaces ideal for soaking up the sun in East London. Don’t forget your suncream…
Backing right on to our beloved Victoria Park is the People’s Park Tavern. Voted as one of the the best beer gardens in London by The Evening Standard, the sun drenched garden is open from midday everyday. A lovely space to while away an afternoon.

The Water Poet in Spitalfields boasts an enormous beer garden / yard / barn with an outside bar, plus their awning has you covered if you need a break from the sunshine or shelter from the rain. Esquire are fans it seems…
“Behind this brilliant East London pub lies one of the best beer gardens you’ll find anywhere. Loads of wooden seating, a damn tasty barbecue and a selection of craft ales make it a winner.”

Beer brewed on site, excellent guest beers and stone-baked pizzas are on offer at this Hackney Wick brewery. The up-cycled venue also has a canal-side beer garden that’s excellent for soaking up some sunshine. Pallet benches and scaffold plank tables sit outside next to the canal and herb gardens, and a bunch of boats are moored up for summer sun-drenched floating fun.

The addition of an all-weather area now means the rooftop at Boundary, Shoreditch is open all year round. Booking a table on the roof means you can enjoy the views while you tuck into some tapas.
