We take a look at the wonderful world of popups in East London this autumn. October’s offering includes a Grimm brother’s rooftop teepee, a beer bakery and some unique culinary experiences. As ever, the transient nature of pop-ups means that once they’re gone, they’re gone, so get involved while you can.
The Queen of Hoxton’s Rooftop Grimm’s Fairy Tales Bar for 2015
Once Upon A WigWam, opening 22nd October, will cast its spell over the skies of East London with the help of festival production maestros, Mad Ferret. Inspired by the the Grimms’ brothers Fairy Tales, look out for interpretations of well-known stories like Hansel & Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel as you get lost in its fantastical forest and magical menu, bringing you a drinking and dining experience not yet seen in London. With cocktails like Hot Gingerbread Apple Toddy and Gardener’s Grog, and food like Chicken Schnitzel and Magic Bean Stew.

The Fabulous Baker Brothers & AB InBev’s Pop-up Beer Bakery in Hackney
Tom and Henry Herbert of the Fabulous Baker Brothers launch a unique bakery, where all the breads are inspired by and beautifully created using ingredients from some of the world’s most popular beers.
The Beer Bakery, a week long pop up bakery will open its doors on Tuesday 27th October to serve up a never tasted before, limited edition range of delicious beer breads inspired by, and created with the same ingredients found in some of the world’s most popular beers, including Stella Artois, Budweiser, Leffe, Beck’s Vier, Hoegaarden and Corona.

The House of Peroni’s Winter 2015 Vita all’Interno Pop-up in Brick Lane
The House of Peroni will open its doors in east London once again this October, bringing to the capital the most immersive and multi-sensory residency to date. The month-long event will bring the heart of the Italian home to London; giving all those who are curious to discover and hungry to explore, the opportunity to experience the transformed space – to eat, drink and make themselves at home.
Entitled ‘Vita all’Interno’ – meaning ‘a life lived inside’ – The House of Peroni residency will welcome guests through one of its many doors to enjoy delicious Michelin-starred food, innovative Peroni Nastro Azzurro infused cocktails and intriguing surroundings, all inspired by the Italian home.

Arun Kapil’s ‘Spice Night’ at The 3 Crowns near Old Street
On Thursday, 29th October Arun Kapil, founder of award winning spice company, Green Saffron will host a Spice Night at The 3 Crowns Old Street pub. Cooking alongside Head Chef Lee Urch, Arun will create a 5-course menu making the most of Green Saffron’s fresh, vibrant spices. The night costs £45, and there will also be a specially selected list of wines to buy on the night.

Oded Oren’s October Kitchen Takeover at The Common Cafe in Bethnal Green
This kitchen takeover will consist of a few of Chef Oded’s signature dishes including his Fish Kebabs, Pulled Lamb Pizza and Pickled Beetroot with Hazelnut dressing each priced at around £8. Oded’s style of cooking is influenced by the multicultural nature of where he grew up, Tel Aviv and will include a fully licenced bar. Note that this night will be cash only.
